Course Description
This course will explore the connection between chemistry and biology with a focus on critical biomolecules such as DNA, RNA, and proteins and cellular processes such as the Central Dogma and DNA replication. Students will learn how to apply chemistry concepts to understand the function of these key molecules and processes while exploring real-world applications and relationships to their everyday lives such as learning about the relationship between genetics and physical traits or how the process of PCR (polymerase chain reaction) actually works! Lab investigations will help students experience and understand concepts from a first year biology course. This course is open to both Branson and non-Branson students who plan to take their first biology course in the fall of 2022.
