Introduction to Entrepreneurship

Grade: Rising 6th through 9th grades

Course Description:  Welcome to the world of entrepreneurship! This course is an engaging introduction to the skills and mindset needed to turn ideas into impactful ventures. Through interactive workshops and hands-on activities, students will explore the key stages of entrepreneurship, including ideation, product development, financing, and pitching. Highly collaborative and dynamic, the course emphasizes teamwork, creativity, and critical thinking. By the end of the course, students will have developed and presented their own entrepreneurial ideas, gaining valuable experience in innovation and problem-solving. Instructor Bio: Percival Barretto-Ko has been teaching Biology, Advanced Biology, and Entrepreneurship at Branson since 2023.  Previously CEO of a biotech company focused on seeking breakthrough cancer therapies, Percival retired from a 25-year career in the life sciences to return to independent school teaching, having taught in a boarding school in Massachusetts over 30 years ago.  Percival earned his bachelor’s degree in biological sciences and chemistry from Cornell University, an MBA from Yale University, and a master’s degree from MIT Sloan School of Management, where he served as a Sloan Fellow for Innovation and Global Leadership.
